Settle in ~ it's a long one!

Brian's sick in bed, it's too hot to work outside, the kitchen in clean, so here I blog.
We got back from our BC adventure on Sunday night just in time for me to crawl into bed and sleep fast before my alarm told me it was time to get up for work.
Our trip was GREAT! We spent 4 days at Brian's brother's in the Okanagan and 2 days driving. The sun was hot and all of Brian's family (except his Dad) were able to make the trip so the company was great too!
We left around 9 on monday morning and made our way across the mountains. We stopped for a little hike at Golden to stretch our legs and made it to our destination at about 7ish.

The next 2 days we lazed on the beach and enjoyed the sun. Throughout the summer I have managed to get a great tan on the front of my legs, my back and chest but the backs of my legs remained white due to my inability to lay on my stomach. So when we were on the beach I came up with a GREAT solution to my problem: DIG A HOLE IN THE SAND FOR STOMACH! Worked great and now I am evenly tanned :)

Showing off our soon to meet cousins:

Thursday afternoon we loaded up the vehicles and water bottles and made our way over to a short hike to a water fall. It consisted of a short walk then 400+ stairs. We took our time (since we had 2 preggo's and 2 kids) and also lots of pics.

On Friday we were able to borrow a boat from a neighbor and we spent most of the day touring and skiing on the Okanagan and Kalamalka Lakes.

Then that evening we took a drive up to an orchard for icecream:

Saturday was mostly spent lying on the couch as the sore ones recouperated from the day before. Finally in the afternoon we got up enough energy to tour some more orchards/fruit stands. Evan thoroughly enjoyed feeding the goats and of course Brian had to check out the nearby wheat field and put his farmer skills to the test.

Sunday morning we headed home at about 9:30, picked up some fruit at a fruit stand and settled in for the drive home. We stopped again for some exercise at a suspension bridge/waterfall.

And now we are back home & gearing up for the harvest season. We should be starting next week so the final busy season of the year is fast approacing. Then I guess after that we just sit back and wait for the snow....yikes!

Jen! You look soooo fabulous! I'm glad you had such a good time. And, you're a smart girl, digging a hole in the sand! Did you know that a good massage therapist will have a special pregnancy pillow so that you can lay on your tummy during a massage instead of laying on your side? Same idea - a donut of sorts.

I should come see you again...
