Again we stopped for some photo op's at Black Brook beach.
We really recommend the Cabot Trail to anyone travelling in the maritimes. Especially in the fall. The colors were just breath taking!
After many stops and lookout points we finally got to our destination for the day. It was an Acadian fishing village called Cheticamp.
We stayed in a B&B cottage, cooked supper and enjoyed a quiet evening.
Day 5
After a homemade breakfast at the B&B we made our way back to the 'mainland' of Nova Scotia and took the ferry over to PEI. The wind was so strong and cold that following our trip they shut down the ferries for that day!
After making it onto to dry land again we drove to Charlottetown which was about an hr away from the ferry. I was neat to see familiar farmland but with the unfamiliar red dirt!

(I loved the old farmhouses that were quite common in Nova Scotia & PEI. There were very few new houses but the well kept heritage home were so beautiful. I kick myself for not taking any pics of them.)
We found a neat B&B when we made it to Charlottetown. She was a single 60ish lady and it was just like staying at Grandma's house. She made us feel so welcome, made us a yummy breakfast the next day and even washed and folded our laundry!
That evening it was cold and rainy. We shopped a bit downtown and went for supper but decided to go and relax in our cozy room - so we didn't experience too much of the Charlottetown night life.

Thanks so much for the recap and pictures from your trip, Jen!! It looked like an awesome trip. I've been wanting to take a trip to the maritimes, so it's neat to see the sights and get a bit of a taste of what it is like.
