Babymoon Pt.3

Day 6:

After a good sleep and a yummy homemade breakfast we started our journey around PEI. We headed towards Cavendish beach and again sat and enjoyed the view and the crashing waves.

Then we visited the infamous Green Gables. Every little girls dream....

Lovers Lane

After our fill of Anne of Green Gables we went for a big lobster lunch and toured more of the island.
We didn't drive across the Confederation Bridge because you have to pay - but we did stop to take a pic:

Day 7

In the morning we drove into Charlottetown and by chance the 2 days we are in PEI, Prince Edward himself was there. So we went to a parade in his honour and also watched a ceremony where he inspected the troops of PEI. Very neat.

After lunch we took the ferry back to Nova Scotia and headed towards Halifax again. Along the way we stopped at a maple syrup farm (one of our highlights). We had a tour of the farm and walked up to the forest of maple trees and saw how they are all tapped in and connected. Then we had supper at their restaurant - yep, it was pancakes with maple syrup! Mmmmm

We made it to Halifax that night and stayed at another B&B.

Day 8:

After another homemade breakfast we got back into our car and drove somemore. We headed along the Lighthouse route and stopped at Peggy's Cove. Wow! Tourist city! We thought we were so smart and went on our holiday after the busy season - well apparently 4 cruise ships had stopped in Halifax that day and they had day tours to the famous lighthouse! Crazy. So besides all the people the lighthouse and village were really pretty and of course we had to take some pics...

After Peggy's Cove we kept driving and passed through some fishing towns and stopped in Lunenburg. We had lunch overlooking the ocean then toured a fishing museum and saw the Bluenose. (It's tourist season was over so we couldn't go on it or really see it but we took a pic of it through one of the museum windows.)

We headed back to Halifax - well attempted to anyways. When we were walking back to our car we saw that one of our tires was pretty flat. So when Brian checked it out he noticed there was a small leak. So after driving around the town for a while we found a tire shop that was open and was able to fix it. The culprit was a drywall screw.
When we finally got back to Halifax we relaxed at Chapters with some good books then had supper at Pizza Hut.

Day 9

Our last day in Halifax! That morning we drove out to a touristy fishing village - but it was kinda lame since it was in the off season. So, we took it easy that morning then at noon we returned our rental car and hopped on another plane to NYC!
